Technology

“IDEC is a two stage evaporative cooling technology that uses water as refrigerant to cool the air. It is particularly suitable for countries with tropical climatic conditions like India. Compared with conventional air cooling systems, IDEC offers 40% power and 30% water saving. Compared to air-conditioning it saves 50-80% power consumption. Thus it becomes an acceptable alternative to both air-cooling and air-conditioning. As a matter of fact it is closer to air-conditioning barring pick monsoon.
The comparison will be with both air-conditioning and air-cooling products on various parameters

  • Technology – Better technology compared to air cooling as it offers lower supply air temperature, saves water and power consumption. In comparison with AC, it replaces compressor with small pumps to achieve similar ‘off coil’ temperature for most part of the year across major parts of India.
  • Capital cost – Sensibly higher than both technologies but assures ROI which is not the case with other technologies.
  • Running cost – Lowest compared to both technologies and thus ensures ROI
  • IAQ – Conventional ACs use recalculated air and thus a major threat for IAQ. IDEC based systems offers fresh air at minimal penalty.”
